Providence City Guide

Providence City Guide

For this rendition of KP City Guides we’re leaving Newport behind and taking you to Rhode Island’s state capital. Providence may be small, but it has plenty to offer. For beginners, we’ve got an Ivy League university, a top art and design school, a robust Italian community, an incredible restaurant scene, and a hip East Side. Join us as we show you all our favorite spots in our charming city!

To get you started, here are a few recommendations from your friends at KP. Begin with an early morning cup of coffee from Dave’s before heading to Julian’s for Bloody Marys and their famous “Benedictions” – that’s Eggs Benedict any style. Try the Desperado, and if you’re not too hungry you can always opt for the 1/2 order. Next on the list, a visit to Seven Stars Bakery just down the street for some pastries and bread to go. Get the olive baguette and don’t miss their decadent brownies. If shopping is your thing, you can spend the day thrift shopping along Wickenden Street or browsing the independent bookshops and boutiques on Westminster. Try the RISD Museum in the afternoon or splurge for a facial at Alayne White, they’re hands down the best in town. Just before sunset make your way over to the East Side to watch the sunset from Prospect Park. For dinner you have a few options, but if you have to choose one, go with Al Forno followed by chocolate mousse cake and a cappuccino at Pastiche or rooftop cocktails at G Pub.
